When you’re in love you see the best and the deepest part of the person, the real person. Love is not a distortion like many people believe. I think it’s the truest picture you can get of somebody. When the romance dies my obsession to photograph the person wears off, but the photographs that I’ve takend do not lose their intensity. The emotional need comes first and then the pictures. Taking a picture of someone is a way of touching them. It’s a caress. My pictures often come from erotic desire. It’s like having safe sex.
